My painting style incorporates a layering effect. It involves interleaving textures, blending colors and creating a subjective atmosphere within the imagery. I use unpredictable palettes—a spectrum of color that often challenges well-worn clichés (the sky is blue, the land is green, etc.). The resulting layers are successively wiped and refined revealing a composite of underlying design.
Janice studied art design at Loveland Academy, although she is primarily self-taught in both oil painting and pottery. She has exhibited nationally and internationally in solo and group art shows.
