C-Dutch

As a professional photographer for more than 20 years, C-Dutch amassed a wealth of knowledge and understanding of light manipulation. His inventive drive to capture light has led him to his current bodies of work: Array, Phototonic, and Botanical. Created from mixed-media, including: vinyl, optical lenses, dichroic plastic, acrylics, and resins; his “light boxes” challenge and disorient viewers’ perceptions of light and color. Methodically assembled without the use of any internal illumination, the pieces explore the formal qualities of light and color within a defined space.
