A fourth generation artist, Anne Packard learned under her grandmother, Max Bohm's critical eye. It was Robert Motherwell who discovered her work for sale on the front porch of her cape home. After buying two paintihngs, Motherwell returned to buy many more. Says Packard," My paintings have to do with the space behind the shadow. It's an inner world of emotion and yearning. I yearn to express solitude."
