Aaron Karp has lived and painted in the American Southwest for the past 30 years and has exhibited extensively nationally. Aaron Karp‘s paintings are extraordinarily animated. He creates a frenetic shimmering space by layering multiple shapes that push and pull repeatedly. These relationships cause a pulsing energized surface, rich in color and texture.
Karp has been awarded numerous residencies and awards, including the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. His work is in many collections as well as the following museums: the Guggenheim Museum, NYC; the New Mexico Fine Arts Museum, Santa Fe; the Austin Museum of Art, Austin, TX and many others.
