Michael Jackman

I am primarily a self-taught artist and have always had a passion for painting. I grew up in Cornwall, England where I was inspired by the intrinsic beauty of the dramatic rocky coastlines and quaint Cornish fishing villages bathed in clean, crisp light. I became fascinated at an early age with the thriving artistic movement centered largely around St.Ives and Newlyn and still continue to visit these towns on my annual pilgrimage to Cornwall. I have lived in the Rocky Mountains for almost 18 years and although the subject matter for my landscape paintings may be different from my native Cornwall I find many similarities in the quality of light found here.
