Diederick Kraaijeveld

Dutch artist Diederick Kraaijeveld constructs truly unique photo-realistic collages from salvaged, reclaimed wood. Self-taught, Kraaijeveld's images are classic and modern icons plucked from contemporary culture. The colored, vintage wood has been collected from all over the world. No paint is used by the artist, and he chooses only the original colors and hues from his vast warehouse of reclaimed boards and wood pieces. Each piece of artwork may include upwards of 100 meticulously cut and placed pieces of wood, culled from his vast collection of globally discarded material. Kraaijeveld has exhibited extensively in Europe and the U.S.. Commissions are always welcome by the artist.
