"For me abstract (non-representational) painting is the ultimate freedom, freedom from the constraints of other more representational compositions. I begin with some lines and colors or I may adhere some material such as paper to the canvas and from there the work evolves. At some point, the painting seems to suggest to me where to go next. I have done watercolor, acrylic and oil abstract paintings. Each medium has its own characteristics which affect the outcome. My thoughts and surroundings influence the light, shapes, colors, textures and compositions I choose."
